- Abstract
This study aimed to determine the effect of using scramble learning models and direct learning models on student learning outcomes in mathematics in class VIII SMPN 2 Bungku Timur, Morowali Regency. This research is a Quasi Experiment with a pretest-posttest control group design. The population in this study was 35 students consisting of 18 students in class VIII A (experimental class) and 17 students in class VIII B (control class). Determination of the sample was done by using a purposive sampling technique. The results showed that the significance value of equal variances in learning outcomes was 0.015, which was smaller than 0.05, then H0 is rejected, and H1 is accepted, which means that learning outcomes of students taught using scramble learning were significantly better than learning outcomes with direct instruction. In other words, there were differences in learning outcomes between the use of scramble learning models and direct learning models for class VIII students of SMPN 2 Bungku Timur, Morowali Regency.
