Website: http://www.icmetss.com The 2022 2nd International Conference on Modern Educational Technology and Social Sciences (ICMETSS 2022), a virtual conference, was successfully held on August 26–28, 2022, in Changchun, China. ICMETSS 2022 promoted the research and developmental activities in innovations of educational technology in the digital age and promoted scientific information interchange between researchers, engineers, and practitioners worldwide. During the conference, we had the honor of having invited Prof. Zehui Zhan from South China Normal University, China, to serve as our Conference Chair. This online conference was composed of three parts: keynote speeches, oral presentations, and online Q&A discussion, attracting 200 delegates from all over the world. Firstly, keynote speakers were each allocated 30–45 min to hold their speeches. Then in the oral presentations, the excellent papers we had selected were presented by their authors one by one. At the beginning of the conference, four distinguished keynote speakers were invited to address their speeches. Among them, Assoc. Prof. Marcus T. Anthony from Beijing Institute of Technology (Zhuhai), China, performed a thought-provoking speech on The Futures of Embodiment in Online and Virtual Learning Environments. He first presented to us a broad model of learning: The Anthony Integrated Learning Process and then provided suggestions about how that might occur in future virtual learning environments like the Metaverse. Moreover, Prof. Lixin Sun from Ningbo University, China, shared with us her study: “Artificial Intelligence + Education for the Elderly”: Development Evidence, Risk Characterization and Practice Direction. She introduced that it is vital to examine the technical risk, fair risk, and relationship risk in the application process comprehensively, necessary to explore the practice direction of intelligent senior education in China from the following aspects: return to the value orientation of humanism and strengthen privacy protection; cooperate with many parties to jointly promote the fair use of intelligent technology resources; reconstruct the interactive form between teachers and students in aged education. Their dramatic speeches had triggered heated discussion in the third part of the conference. Besides, every participant praised this conference for disseminating useful and insightful knowledge. After months of hard work and preparation, we have selected and compiled a bunch of high-quality papers into the proceedings after rigorously reviewing them. These papers feature but are not limited to the following topics: Innovation in Teaching & Learning, Technology-Enhanced Learning in the Digital Era, Integrating Educational Technologies, etc. All the papers have been checked through rigorous review and processes to meet the requirements of publication. On behalf of the conference organizing committee, we would like to extend our sincere acknowledgment to all the keynote speakers, peer reviewers, and all the participants. Especially, our thanks go to the Atlantis Press, for the hard work of all its colleagues in publishing this paper volume. We truly believe that all the attendees have had fruitful discussions and gained valuable knowledge and will enjoy the opportunity for future collaborations. Committee of ICMETSS 2022
