This volume is dedicated to the 2024 4th International Conference on Internet Finance and Digital Economy (ICIFDE 2024) held from 16 to 18 August 2024 in Harbin, China. Focusing exclusively on the recent trends of research in Internet finance and digital econ omy, the conference gathers the brightest minds from academia, industry, and policy making circles, unleashing a cascade of ideas and insights that will resonate far beyond the conference hall.

From the proliferation of fintech solutions reshaping traditional financial services to the ubiquitous presence of blockchain, artificial intelligence, and big data transforming industries and lifestyles, the pace of change is both exhilarating and daunting. ICIFDE 2024 serves as a pivotal platform, where both experienced and young scholars interested in working actively on various aspects of Internet finance and digital economy were welcomed and those disruptive technologies were dissected, debated, and ultimately, harnessed for the betterment of society.

The conference’s central theme resonates deeply with the need for global collabo ration in navigating the complexities of the digital transformation. By bringing together experts from diverse backgrounds, ICIFDE 2024 fosters an environment conducive to cross-pollination of ideas, enabling participants to explore new frontiers of knowl edge and forge partnerships that can lead to groundbreaking innovations. The confer ence agenda includes a keynote speech, addressing major theoretical issues, current and forthcoming observational data as well as upcoming ideas in both theoretical and observational sectors. In the keynote speech part, Associate Professor Vasilii Erokhin (Harbin Engineering University, China) discussed the potential benefits of artificial intel ligence for economic development, as well as potential threats of intelligence-related technologies to various industries and markets. Besides, Associate Professor Dragana Ostic (Jiangsu University, China) explored key innovations and trends shaping the future of digital economy and also addressed challenges and opportunities. Besides the keynote speech, a good proportion of the participants also presented their work through contrib utory talks and posters on this big platform. This was particularly encouraging and of benefit to the young participants, given that there were a good number of scientists of international repute among the participants, the feedback from whom could in some way guide them in the right direction. The Proceedings herein captures the essence of these exchanges, preserving for posterity the intellectual capital generated during this remarkable gathering.

Finally, we thank all the speakers and participants without whom the program would not have been such a success. We are also indebted to the sponsors for providing us with generous support in organizing this academic conference. Besides, we thank all the committee members for contributing hard labor to make this conference successful. Last but not the least, we gratefully acknowledge the experts and reviewers for their valuable suggestions on the reviewing process of the papers submitted.

May this collection inspire further dialogue, collaboration, and innovation, driving us closer to realizing the full potential of the digital age.
