- Abstract
Taking Dongji Island as an example, this study examines the development of island tourism resources under the concept of sustainable development. By analyzing the geographical, natural, and cultural characteristics of Dongji Island, it explores how to develop and utilize island tourism resources while protecting the environment and maintaining socio-economic sustainability. Dongji Island has rich natural landscapes and unique cultural heritage, but it faces challenges such as environmental degradation and overexploitation of resources. To achieve sustainable development, it is necessary to formulate scientific planning and management measures to promote ecological conservation, cultural heritage, and community participation. By appropriately developing and utilizing island tourism resources, a virtuous cycle of economic growth, social development, and environmental protection can be achieved.
