- Abstract
In recent years, talk shows have been introduced into China across the sea. With the intervention of emerging capital, network media and the transformation of audience identity, they have taken on a new form. The internet talk show represented by “ROCK & ROAST” has been accepted by the majority of the audience with its unique form of expression, humorous performance content and sharp topic interpretation. It has become popular on major network platforms and become the focus of discussion. The transformation of talk show from minority entertainment to popular carnival is not only related to the change of group identity, but also related to the boost of media and commerce. However, the essence of “offence” of talk show determines that it cannot completely get rid of the identity of “subculture” and become “popular culture”. This paper will take “ROCK & ROAST” as the starting point, and the post-subculture theory as the theoretical resource to explore the new changes of China’s online talk show.
