- Abstract
The traditional high-pitched Suona is a musical instrument widely used by all ethnic groups in China and various folk ceremonial accompaniments. It is also a wind instrument with a pivotal position in modern Chinese national orchestras. It is of great significance to research the influence on the sound quality of the hall. This paper introduces the test work of the directivity of traditional high-pitched Suona in a anechoic chamber. The test content includes scales and music. The test is carried out under three playing strengths of pp, f, and ff and three playing speeds of Ad, M, and Al. Data processing is carried out using the concept of normalized sound pressure level, and the representative directivity of Suona is obtained. By comparing the scales and music, different playing strengths and speeds, and discussing the effects of the performance content and the playing strength and speed on the Suona directivity test results, the general rules of the Suona directivity are summarized. The test results show that the performance content, playing strength and speed have no obvious influence on the sound radiation directivity of Suona. The frequency band directivity graph represents the directivity characteristics of the Suona during the actual performance.
