Abstract

English is the universal language of the earth, and it is also one of the most widely employed tongues in the United States. It has also become an internationally widely used language. Language is the bond of culture, the bridge and link between members of society and the tool for expressing ideas. Everything in the world has an unavoidable association, and the spread of the English tongue in Chinese culture is no special case. This paper aims to analyze the impact of learning English on Chinese culture. The specific research problems include several aspects. The newspaper discussed the development stages of the English tongue in China and the influence of English on Chinese culture in different features. The result shows that learning English has always had more advantages than disadvantages in Chinese culture. In terms of cultural exchange, through learning English, China has gained a more comprehensive understanding of western culture and its essence, and has promoted its own development. In terms of external communication, through language learning and exchange, China’s excellent Chinese language connotations, clothing, diet, and other cultures have spread throughout the world, promoting the opening and dissemination of Chinese culture.
