We are glad to introduce you the 2020 5th International Conference on Humanities Science and Society Development (ICHSSD 2020), which was successfully held on May 22-24. Different from the previous four times, ICHSSD 2020 was carried out in the form of virtual conference due to the impact of COVID-19. Because there is worldwide travel restriction, we held this flexible online conference to gather experts and scholars around the globe with the aim to continue disseminating the latest advanced research in the field of Humanities Science and Society Development and developing the academic exchange among researchers.

The committee of ICHSSD 2020 consists of about fifty experts in the area of Humanities Science and Society Development from home and abroad. With its professional and powerful influence, we are honored to have invited two renowned experts as our keynote speakers. Assoc. Prof. Yuriy Shvets, a young professor from Financial University under the Government of Russian Federation, Russia, held a speech on Correlation of socio-economic consequences of the external effects management of regional medical systems. In addition, Prof. Victor Wang from Grand Canyon University, USA, performed his speech entitled A Comparison of Knowledge Creation through Different Philosophies in China and in the United States. The keynote speeches were the first session of the conference, which were each delivered in about 30 minutes via Zoom. The second part following the keynote presentations was online discussion through a communication group in WeChat for participants to discussion more about the talks and also share their research.

We are glad to share with you that we still received lots of submissions from the conference during this special period. Hence, we selected a bunch of high-quality papers and compiled them into the proceedings after rigorously reviewed them. These papers feature following topics but are not limited to: Humanities in Social Sciences, Interdisciplinary Humanities, Applied Humanities, Culture, Religion and Ethnic Studies, and other related fields. All the papers have been through rigorous review and process to meet the requirements of International publication standard.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the Chairman, the distinguished keynote speakers, as well as all the participants. We also want to thank the publisher for publishing the proceedings. May the readers could enjoy the gain some valuable knowledge from it. We are expecting more and more experts and scholars from all over the world to join this international event next year.
