Website: http://ic-ichess.org The 2022 5th International Conference on Humanities Education and Social Sciences (ICHESS 2022) was successfully held on October 14-16, 2022 in Chongqing, China (online conference). ICHESS 2022 brought together innovative academics and industrial experts in the fields of Humanities Education and Social Sciences for idea sharing, promoting research and developmental activities and scientific information interchange in related fields. In the conference, we were greatly honored to have Prof. Zehui Zhan from South China Normal University, China to serve as our Conference Chair. Over 360 individuals around the world took part in the conference. Divided into three parts, the conference agenda covered keynote speeches, oral presentations and online Q&A discussion. Firstly, keynote speakers were each allocated 30-45 minutes to address their speeches. Then in the oral presentations, the excellent papers selected were presented by their authors one by one. Four distinguished professors were invited to hold keynote speeches during the conference. Among them, Prof. Jun Chen from Chongqing Normal University, China addressed a speech on An Initial Comparison of Chinese and UK Qualified Teacher Status: Reflections and Lessons Learned so far. This keynote speech compared Chinese Teachers’ Qualification system with U.K Qualified Teacher Status by digging into the related documentations and explored their respective implementations in UK and China, focusing on the possible challenges to teachers’ qualifications in China as improvements are currently being considered as an emerging concern. Additionally, Prof. João VELOSO from University of Macau, China a made a report on The Languages of Science. Sharing a common language is a communication facilitator but imposing one sole language not only as the main but as the exclusive language of science entails some risks. Therefore, in this study, his main purpose was to contribute for the discussion of what can scientists responsibly do in order to see languages other than English also as languages of science but it did not mean to discard English as a major publication and communication language. Their wonderful and dramatic keynote speeches had triggered heated discussion in the conference. And every participant praised this conference for disseminating useful and insightful knowledge. We are glad to share with you that we’ve selected a bunch of high-quality papers from the submissions and compiled them into the proceedings after rigorously reviewing them. These papers feature but are not limited to the following topics: Human Rights Development, Law and Justice, Social Complexity, Social Work, etc. All the papers have been checked through rigorous review and processes to meet the requirements of publication. We would like to acknowledge all of those who supported ICHESS 2022 and made it a great success. Particularly, we would like to thank the Advances in Social Science, Education and Humanities Research, for the endeavor of all its colleagues in publishing this paper volume. We truly believe that all the attendees have had fruitful discussions and gained valuable knowledge, and will enjoy the opportunity for future collaborations. The Committee of ICHESS 2022
