Abstract

As a basic industry in China, transportation plays an important supporting role in the development of regional economy. Based on the analysis of the mechanism of traffic factors on economic development, this paper selects 20 representative provinces to analyze the relationship between railway, highway, shipping and GDP growth through the econometric model. The results show that different modes of transportation have different effects on economic development in the three regions. Based on this, this paper puts forward some policy suggestions, such as reasonable choice of transportation mode and optimization of transportation layout.
