Abstract

Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) is a science that studies living things and inanimate objects in the universe and their interactions. It also examines human life as individuals and social beings who interact with their environment. This study was conducted for four months with 30 student participants. This study aims to evaluate the Natural and Social Sciences learning model based on local wisdom with the integration of Virtual Reality (VR) media, with a focus on student learning outcomes. The method used in the current study is quantitative. The data were collected using a reading comprehension test through a multiple-choice test, and an N-Gain test to measure students’ understanding as learning outcomes. The results of the study reveal that the learning model applied was effective and significantly improving students’ comprehension. The average N-Gain value of 0.85 indicates the success of the model in achieving its goals. In addition, the evaluation of science process skills affirms that most students managed to achieve a satisfactory level of success. In brief, this study confirms that the NSS learning model based on local wisdom with the integration of Virtual Reality media is effective in improving students’ learning outcomes.
