Abstract

Prose, as a literary genre, has been scantly studied. This paper attempts to survey the relevant studies of it. It firstly examines the concept of prose so that a clarification can be made. Then it surveys some perspectives of prose study namely, aesthetic, linguistic and semantic. It is expected that the present survey will not only enhance people’s understanding of prose but also promote the further study of prose.
