Abstract

This study confirms previous studies on sustainable entrepreneurial intentions (SEI) in the learning context of vocational high schools at Kulon Progo, Yogyakarta. The research model places three independent variables, namely entrepreneurial education (EDU), entrepreneurial orientation (EO), and social norms (SN), as determinants of SEI. The unit of analysis consists of respondents (n of 115) students of the State Vocational High School 1 Kokap, Kulon Progo. The result proves that the three variables significantly positively influence 5 per cent of SEI. The structural model goes through a series of tests for validity, reliability, multicollinearity, Linearity and robustness so that this model is guaranteed to be accurate for testing hypotheses. The resulting R-square of 0.776 proves that EDU, EO, and SN contribute 77.600 per cent to SEI. Moreover, the results of multigroup analysis show the statistical differences between male and female groups in perceiving the impact of EDU on SEI. It was successfully proven that the t-statistic value for the male group was greater than that for the female group. Meanwhile, EO and SN for women’s groups statistically influence the SEI, while the opposite is not for men’s groups. It is necessary to prioritize mentoring and training during the development stage to become a business start-up for groups of female students. These results give a picture of students’ perceptions of sustainable entrepreneurship so that it becomes a suggestion for education and culture departments to improve support and learning facilities for students in vocational schools. This approach is used to improve entrepreneurial education aligning with sustainable development goals (SDGs) at the secondary school level at Kulon Progo.
