- Abstract
Compared with Hollywood, sci-fi films are increasingly popular all over the world with their sophisticated production and powerful special effects, becoming the biggest winner at the global box office. Chinese sci-fi films have always been considered a shortcoming of the Chinese film industry. The development of Chinese sci-fi films lags for many reasons, including ideology, lack of cultural soil, and lack of specialization and industrialization. This article analyzes Chinese sci-fi films from the perspective of narratology and narrative structure, and finds out the reasons for the insufficient narrative and existing problems in Chinese sci-fi films to provide reference and thinking for its development.
