Abstract

This paper is dedicated to the analysis of the place and role of evil in a human life, in society and culture. The authors put into the spotlight some aspects of the phenomenon of evil, previously overlooked by the philosophers. Among those aspects, the idea of the inevitability and necessity of evil in culture, the idea of evil as a transitional stage to moral life, and the idea of the transcendent foundations of evil.
