From the perspective of information theory, the “picture collage under guidance of speech” narrative shape of adapted short video envelops a narrative core with clear division of information between speech and picture; the “speech-picture” narrative realizes the negative entropy of literary information, reduces audience’s cost in receiving information, and improves its acceptance degree. The “speech-picture” narrative of adapted short video provides an information-level operation reference for the cross-media adaptation of literature, and also provides a strategy for the popularization of literature to adapt to the environment of information generalization.
