Proceedings of the 2015 International Conference on Advanced Manufacturing and Industrial Application
The 2015 International Conference on Advanced Manufacturing and Industrial Application (ICAMIA 2015), organized by the Science and Engineering Research Center (SERC), Hong Kong, China, will be held on December 20-21, 2015 in Phuket, Thailand.
Through a period of time, the impetus for the improvement of manufacturing efficiency has shifted from the front-line workers at the beginning to specific research labs, which usually consists of a large number of scientists with professional knowledge. For certain industries, they have even established labs for each aspect of the manufacturing, such as aerodynamic labs and combustion labs for auto industry and aircraft industry. On ICAMIA 2015, we have invited researchers with creative and innovative ideas, on-going or completed.
The ideas and thoughts presented by these contributions may seem far-fetched today, but I am sure that they will be proven significantly inspiring in the time to come, like the invention of planes.
On December 20 and 21, ICAMIA 2015 will have participants from many famous universities, research labs and centers, and scientists from other institutions. Participants will attend ICAMIA 2015 with great enthusiasm. They will be presenting their research and be engaged in the discussion of others’. We can safely say that ICAMIA 2015 has, to some extent, already accelerated certain research in manufacturing and industrial fields.
ICAMIA 2015 was prepared by us with great effort. The people constituting the program committee and the reviewing committee have been selected with great attention, because they would later make the decision on the acceptance/rejection of each contribution submitted to ICAMIA2015. The reviewing process is as below.
All the submissions were double-blind reviewed, both the reviewers and the authors remaining anonymous. Each paper was reviewed by at least 2 reviewers with related academic experience assigned by TPC chairs. Papers accepted by all reviewers were accepted; those with different opinions would be reviewed again by another reviewer. Accepted papers will still be revised by the contributor according to the reports from the reviewers.
About 200 contributions were submitted to ICAMIA 2015 before the final date. The submissions are all original work from the contributors. Some of them may share a subject, but they have started off from rather different aspects. Eventually, the reviewers have recommended 42 papers for publication in this book. We have put these researches under 3 chapters.
Chapter 1: Manufacturing Systems and Information Technology
Chapter 2: Mechanical Properties and Automation Engineering
Chapter 3: Materials Processing Technology and Its Industry Application
Lastly, the success for ICAMIA 2015 has many people to thank. I would like to give my sincere appreciation to the organizers, the committee members, the contributors, the reviewers, the Atlantis Press for supporting and publishing this book, and other people who have helped and supported ICAMIA 2015 in other ways.
