- Abstract
This paper introduces the machine learning model into the research of determining the factors on college evaluations. Taking the “double-high colleges” of the Ministry of Education as a research case, compared with support vector machines, decision trees and other models, Lasso-Logistic can more efficiently compress and select the key explanatory variables. The overall prediction accuracy of the model is nearly 80%. The results show that the landmark achievements of majors, teachers, and students are the core influencing factors, and factors such as school establishment time, number of teachers, student-teacher ratio and other factors have no substantial impact.
