Proceedings of the 2013 International Conference on Advanced ICT and Education
The 2013 International Conference on Advanced Information and Communication Technology for Education (ICAICTE 2013), which will be held on September 20-22, 2013 in Hainan, China. The ICAICTE 2013 focuses on using ICT in education which includes practice, technology and theory. Since ancient times, research in education has never been discontinued. In particular, with the emergence of ICT which evolved very quickly, so have the changes in the research of education (e.g. theory and practice which go with these evolving technologies).
The use of ICT in education is becoming ever more important. ICT is the medium of young people and plays a pivotal role in their lives. ICT can significantly reinforce and deepen knowledge and understanding. Nowadays, many researchers focus on promoting, coordinating and facilitating the use of information and communication technology (ICT) to enhance teaching and student learning.
The aim of this conference is to provide a worldwide forum, where the international participants can share their research knowledge and ideas on the recent and latest research on AICTE and map out the directions for future researchers and collaborations. Researchers and graduate students are welcomed to participate in the conference to exchange research findings in the frontier areas of Computers in Education. To promote the applications of ICT, a workshop named 2013 International Conference on Advanced Information and Communication Technology for Business and Management (ICAICTBM 2013) will be held along with ICAICTE 2013.
ICAICTE 2013 is sponsored by International Association for Cyber Science and Engineering. ICAICTE 2013 has received about 500 submissions from 26 countries and regions. The papers come from both academia and industry reflecting the international flavor of this event in the topics of ICT in education, Business, Management, and other related areas. About 80 PC members and 60 international reviewers worked hard in reviewing the submissions. Based on the review reports, 177 papers were accepted to be presented in ICAICTE 2013 by the chairs. All the accepted papers have been presented on the conference, mainly by oral presentations in three sessions viz., ICT in education, ICT in Business and Management, and Information and Communication Technologies.
All the presented papers will be published by Atlantis Press, and submitted for indexing to Thomson ISI ( ISTP, CPCI, Web of Science), Scopus (by Elsevier) and EI/Compendex.
We express our thanks to all the members of the General Committee Chairs, Program Committee Chairs, Technical Program Committee and volunteers who worked so hard to prepare the conference and chair the three sessions in ICAICTE 2013. And we also thank Prof. Ok-hwa Lee, Prof. John Paul Loucky and Professor Jennifer Steel for their excellent keynote speeches.
We hope that ICAICTE 2013 will be successful and enjoyable to all participants. We look forward to seeing all of you next year at the ICAICTE 2014.
