Website: https://icae.polibatam.ac.id/ We were very delighted to present the Proceedings of the International Conference on Applied Engineering (ICAE 2024) which had held at the Politeknik Negeri Batam, Indonesia, on October 1–2, 2024. This hybrid event gathered experts from over five countries, including distinguished participants from France and Montreal, uniting both academics and professionals to share innovations and insights in applied engineering. With two esteemed keynote speakers, ICAE 2024 facilitated a rich exchange of ideas, reflecting a strong international commitment to sustainable engineering. The conference theme, “Envisioning a Sustainable Future,” aimed to explore the role of applied engineering in advancing sustainable development through smart cities, green economies, and digitalization. ICAE 2024 was organized into three core tracks— Mechanical, Electronics, and Informatics—to cover a comprehensive array of topics in line with the conference’s goals. In the Mechanics Track, topics included control systems, aerodynamics, renewable energy, and robotic automation. Authors presented pioneering approaches to enhancing energy efficiency, minimizing environmental impact, and advancing resource-conscious manufacturing, all contributing to a sustainable economy. The Electronics Track brought forward research on power electronics, IoT, biomedical engineering, and sensor technologies. Discussions focused on how electronics drive smart grids, intelligent monitoring systems, and renewable energy solutions, underscoring electronics’ pivotal role in sustainable urban and industrial ecosystems. The Informatics Track explored advancements in AI, blockchain, virtual reality, and real-time data processing, all essential for the development of smart, resilient systems. This track presented solutions to enhance security, decision-making, and connectivity within smart cities and industries. These ICAE 2024 proceedings, published by Atlantis Press, make this compilation of cutting-edge research accessible to the global community.
