Abstract

The article examines the multifaceted piano heritage of S. Maykapar. His compositions register Instructive and artistic value, and addressed to children and youth. Special attention is paid to the analysis of the cycles "First Steps", "20 Preludes for Pedal" and "Songs on the Technique of Double Notes". The conclusion is that the music of the composer and his progressive scientific and methodical ideas did not loose their significance today.
