Abstract

This study reveals the emergence mechanism of employee innovation performance from the strengths-based psychological climate. In particular, this study investigated the mediating role of employee engagement drawing on componential model of creativity and the moderating role of extraversion drawing on positive-activities model. Based on data collected from 314 employees of three enterprises in Hunan province and Hubei province. The result shows that: (1) strengths-based psychological climate is positively related to employee innovation performance; (2) employee engagement mediates the relationship between strengths-based psychological climate and employee innovation performance; (3) extraversion positively moderates the indirect relationship between strengths-based psychological climate and employee engagement.
