Abstract

Sectio caesarea is the last option for saving the lives of mother and foetus if vaginal delivery faces obstacles. Sectio caesarea action may result in complications of pain that is felt due to tissue damage. Post-caesarian section pain is accute in nature and requires immediate treatment as it may cause restriction in the everyday activities and disturb the recovery process. Objectives: This research was intended to find out the effect of exercise therapy on pain intensity in mothers after sectio caesarea. Methods: This researchused quasi-experiment method with pre- and post-test control group design. The samples of this research were divided into two, one of which was a treatment group with exercise therapy treatment that consisted of 25 samples, and another one was a control group with early mobilization that consisted of 25 samples. The pain intensity was measured using VAS (Visual Analog Scale). Results: Test of pain intensity in two groups of mothers after sectio caesarea, there was a difference with a value p = 0.009 (p = <0.05). Conclusion: It was concluded that exercise therapy can reduce the pain intensity in mothers after sectio caesarea
