Welcome to the 2024 International Conference on Humanities, Arts, and Cultural Industry Development (HACID 2024). We are delighted to present this year’s conference’s Proceedings, which embody a significant landmark in our continuous endeavor to facilitate collaboration between industry and academic institutions, particularly focusing on the development of humanities, arts, and cultural industry.

Held in Qingdao, China, during May 24 to 26, 2024, via virtual form, this event promises a series of in-depth discussions on various highly relevant topics such as Literature and Poetry, Language and Broadcast Hosting, Social Culture, Digital Media Technology, Cultural Development and Integration, Rural Tourism Economy, Innovation and Economic Development, and a range of innovations that will shape the future. It is an opportunity for us to understand their impact across various sectors and how we can harness them.

Several guests accepted an invitation to deliver their plenary presentations at the HACID 2024. Professor BRIEL Holger of Beijing Normal University-Hong Kong Baptist University United International College (UIC) (China) presented to us a Chinese love story with the film A Light Never Goes Out (2022) to demonstrate a love for neon- neon for love. Professor Zhong Chen of University of Macau, Macau (China) talked about cross-cultural communication on bridging the imperceptible cognitive style gap between Chinese and English. Professor Guiyun Guan of Northwest Minzu University (China) delved into the themes in The Great Gatsby from the perspective of alienation. And Professor Paulo Batista of University of Évora (Portugal) introduced something about architectural archives, a resource for knowledge and collective memory, including both the problems and opportunities it faces.

This Proceedings covers a wide array of topics, showcasing the diverse and evolving nature of research in humanities, arts, and cultural industry. Each paper has undergone a meticulous peer-review process to maintain the highest academic standards. We hope the Proceedings will not only reflect the current state of research in our field but also inspire future collaborations and innovations.

This conference would not be possible without the dedication of our organizing committee, the support of our sponsors, and, most importantly, the participation of each and every one of you. Your presence here is a testament to your commitment to pushing the frontiers of knowledge and fostering innovation and collaboration. May this conference motivate all participants to pursue excellence in their fields.
