Abstract

With the advancement of globalisation, second language learning has become more and more important. Traditional second language teaching methods face many limitations and challenges. The rapid development of artificial intelligence technology has brought new opportunities for second language learning. ChatGPT, as an artificial intelligence-based chatbot, can simulate real conversations and provide a personalized language learning experience. As an interactive tool with natural language processing capabilities, it provides new learning methods and learning resources for second language learners. In this paper, we will discuss the implementation paths, advantages and challenges of ChatGPT in assisting second language teaching, and make application suggestions to further improve the effectiveness of ChatGPT in teaching.
