Abstract

"Service learning" is a practice education concept, combining resources of school and society, based on academic and social service tasks. This learning concept and form can effectively meet the actual needs of college English curriculum, and effectively promote the development of urban universities to make sure it can provide better support to the economy in the service area. Service learning of basic English courses of city university, combining knowledge and models of learning foundation, higher pedagogy and applied linguistics, can cultivate more high standard professional business English talents for society, thereby strengthening utility of city university organization and building "town - scholars" mutual integration mode.
