Abstract

This article introduces the origin of the t distribution, the demonstration of the t distribution on small samples, the advantages of the t distribution, and the reasoning of the application of the t distribution to the estimation of the population mean. The specific application of the t distribution is given through a case, and the difference between the t distribution and the normal distribution is compared.
