Website: http://www.icecit.org From 17–19 March 2023, the 2023 4th International Conference on E-Commerce and Internet Technology (ECIT 2023) was held via virtual form in Nanchang, China. The conference was attended by researchers, teachers, students and engineers working in the field of e-commerce and Internet technology. E-commerce is a commercial activity centred on commodity exchange by means of information network technology. And Internet technology is the prerequisite for ecommerce to be realized. The development and popularization of Internet technology has also played a positive role in promoting the development of e-commerce. The influence of e-commerce and Internet technology is mutual, and only through continuous friction, can we continuously promote the development of both sides in a benign direction. Therefore, the general objectives of the ECIT 2023 were: To create a forum for sharing, exchange and research at the international level, so that participants can be informed of the latest research directions, contents and results of applied Internet technologies on e-commerce. To provide the approach to the main problems facing e-commerce, creating spaces that encourage discussion and joint development of research, technology development and innovation. To inform the scientific community and other social sectors the topics addressed in this conference, as well as progress and proposals, so that the social impact of ecommerce becomes a reality. Heated discussion took place. There was an enabling environment for discussion and exchange of ideas, duringwhich topics such as online trading, e-commerce platform construction, network payment security, data encryption technology, identity authentication technology, digital transportation, etc. An important issue was the discussion of online ad effectiveness evaluation with a two-stage method using a Gaussian filter and decision tree approach reported by Professor HeyongWang (South China University of Technology, China). In the speech, a two-stage method based on Gaussian filter and decision tree (termed M-GFDT) is proposed for predicting ineffective online advertisements according to business data from online advertising platforms, achieving good performance in predicting ineffective ads. About 40 papers were approved for presentation at the conference and publication in AHE-Atlantis Highlights in Engineering. The conference was organized in four keynote speeches in different research areas and various oral and poster sessions. As in the previous three meetings, ECIT 2023 was again a space for undisputed knowledge integration and shared of peer experiences within the specific area of ecommerce. The cordiality and good treatment of the attendees promoted a climate of friendship, which we could enjoy during all the development of the Congress. Both conference and talk sessions were attended by many conference attendees, allowing closer relationships, both academic and scientific and personal.
