Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming the landscape of education, particularly in the realm of language learning. This paper explores the integration of AI in English language learning, focusing on the benefits and challenges of this rapidly evolving field. The study reviews AI-driven tools such as chatbots, personalized learning platforms, and intelligent tutoring systems, assessing their effectiveness in enhancing language acquisition. It also examines challenges associated with AI implementation in educational settings. The study employed a mixed-methods approach to survey 185 participants. The findings show that most participants had clear perspectives on the benefits of AI tools for English language learning. Participants admitted that AL tools are useful to enhance learners’ language proficiency and motivation in learning English language. Besides that, participants agreed that the challenges of AI tools can happen while being implemented. Finally, the study offered some recommendations that help schools effectively take advantage of AI tools to improve English language learning.
