In today’s ever-changing technology, research and development in the field of civil engineering is driving the progress of global infrastructure construction.We are humbled to welcome you all to review this very special event 2024 International Conference on Civil Engineering Structures and Concrete Materials (CESCM 2024). This conference took place in Dali, China, from July 19th to 21st, 2024, serving as a platform to delve into the incredible potential offered by the latest innovations and trends that have the power to transform our world.

The CESCM 2024 was held to respond to the needs of the times, to gather global wisdom and to seek common development plans. It focused on two core topics of civil engineering structures and concrete materials, covering a variety of sub-fields such as structural engineering, mechanics of materials, concrete structures, seismic load analysis, structural mechanics, tunnels and underground structure, bridge engineering, etc., deeply exchanging cutting-edge research results and practical experiences, and promoting international cooperation and innovation.

The conference featured many parts including keynote speech, oral presentation, poster display, academic discussion, among others. Professor Faxing Ding (Central South University) elaborated on the damage ratio strength theory of materials and application; Professor Xiaomeng Hou (Harbin Institute of Technology) talked about the mechanical properties of reactive powder concrete structures at ultra-low temperatures and their application prospect; Junjie Zeng (University of South Australia, Australia) introduced to us the development, durability, and aero-hydrodynamic analysis of offshore floating wind turbine foundation revolution enabled by FRP reinforced ultra-high-performance concrete structures; Associate Professor Lizhao Dai (Changsha University of Science & Technology) presented a multi-objective maintenance strategy for bridge network oriented to low-carbon; Associate Professor Yu Chen (Sun Yat-sen University) showed us the 3Dmeso-numerical model of steel fiber reinforced concrete under static and dynamic loading. All of them shared with us their professional insights on specific topics, bringing the conference to a climax. Moreover, the oral and poster presentations allowed the attendees to be deeply involved in the conference, further enriching the program of the conference. Experts and scholars exchanged views all through the conference, making it a truly successful and meaningful academic platform.

This Proceedings contains the outstanding selected academic papers submitted from CESCM 2024. During the selection and evaluation of papers, we always adhere to the principles of fairness, impartiality and openness to ensure that each paper has gone through strict academic scrutiny. We believe that the publication of these contributions will not only provide valuable references and lessons for academics, but also provide practical guidance and inspiration for the construction community.
