The 2024 7th International Conference on Civil Architecture, Hydropower and Engineering Management (CAHEM 2024), held from November 1 to 3, 2024, in Zhengzhou, China, successfully brought together scholars, engineers, researchers, and industry professionals from around the world. This year’s conference aimed to address the challenges and opportunities in civil architecture, hydropower systems, and engineering management, with a focus on innovative technologies and sustainable practices in these fields.
Against the backdrop of rapid global urbanization, climate change, and the growing need for resilient infrastructure, CAHEM 2024 provided an important academic platform for sharing cutting-edge research and practical solutions to some of the most pressing issues in civil engineering. Topics covered included sustainable construction, hydropower development, water resources planning and using, structural engineering, urban planning, and the management of complex engineering projects, etc.
The conference featured a distinguished group of keynote speakers, including Professor Yuefang Rong, an expert in urban and regional planning, who shared her research on “Facing the New Stage of Urban Development, Opening a NewEra ofWhole-Process Control of Construction Waste”; Professor Linlin Xie, from South China University of Technology, who took recycled lump concrete technology as an example to discuss how green technology innovation empower the development of new quality productive forces in the construction industry; Professor Wei Zhang, a leading authority on structural reliability and engineering design, who presented on calculation methods of structural reliability and sensitivity; and Associate Professor Mohammadreza Vafaei, from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, who delivered a talk on “An Innovative Tubular Viscoelastic Damper for Seismic Protection of Structures”.
Alongside the keynote speeches, numerous research papers were presented through oral or poster form by authors from across the globe. These presentations explored various aspects of civil engineering, hydropower, and engineering management, offering new insights into the application of advanced technologies, sustainable practices, and management strategies in infrastructure development.
All the accepted papers from CAHEM 2024 were included in this proceedings, covering a wide range of aspects in civil engineering construction, hydropower, and engineering management. The publication and dissemination of the proceedings will help to promote technological progress and innovative applications in the fields of civil engineering construction, water conservancy and hydropower development and project management, and provide strong support for the sustainable development of the industry.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all participants, speakers, authors, and sponsors for their invaluable contributions to CAHEM 2024. The success of this year’s event marks a significant milestone in the ongoing advancement of civil architecture, hydropower, and engineering management, and we look forward to continued collaboration and innovation in these vital fields.
