Proceedings of the 2017 2nd International Conference on Control, Automation and Artificial Intelligence (CAAI 2017)
For active involvement of participants and enthusiastic support of all parties, the 2nd International Conference on Control, Automation, and Artificial Intelligence (CAAI2017) will be held in Sanya, China from June 25-26. The conference is organized by the Science and Engineering Research Center (SERC), Hong Kong. This academic event bearing limitless expectation of people will definitely achieve a complete success.
It’s worthwhile to mention that the first CAAI was successfully held on August 23-24, 2015 in Phuket, Thailand which provided opportunities for the delegates to exchange new ideas and application experience, to establish research relations and to find global partners for future collaboration. We live in a world increasingly influenced by control and automation. The ubiquity of computing in contemporary culture has resulted in human production being intelligent, and even partially replaced, by artificial intelligence processes. Such augmentation and substitution is already common, and even predominates, in some industries. This trend is now spreading rapidly. Hence, to strength the communication of disciplines and to promote the development of related fields, CAAI 2017 will create a high-quality forum for researchers, practitioners and developers to review current trends in this area and to present and discuss new ideas and new research directions.
CAAI 2017 has experienced innumerable sweat and effort in the course of organization. We have invited professors and doctors with professional knowledge to join CAAI 2017 as committee members. And with their expertise and recommendation, CAAI 2017 possesses rich and authoritative reviewers. Together with them, we have adopted a strict reviewing process to ensure the quality of CAAI 2017.
All submissions will go through a double-blinded peer-review process. Paper selections should be on the basis of technical quality, relevance, significance, and clarity. Each paper, both invited and contributed, will be reviewed by two or three experts from the committees. If two reviewers share the same opinion to accept, then it will be accepted for publication. If they had different opinions, the paper would be transmitted to the third reviewer assigned by the chairs. The authors' names and institutions won’t appear in the paper. All paper would still need revision before publication.
CAAI 2017 has received about 420 papers until the submission deadline. To prepare for the publication, the reviewers have been asked to review these contributions. We have finally accepted 130 submissions. This book, including all accepted submissions, has been divided into four chapters.
Chapter 1: Intelligent Control, Automation and Robotics
Chapter 2: Intelligent Design and Manufacture Engineering
Chapter 3: AI Algorithms, Data Mining and Applications
Chapter 4: Artificial Neural Networks and Image Recognition
It is our honor to have the privilege of working with these excellent people on CAAI 2017. I would like to express my gratitude to every organizer for contributions to the conference, to the committee members and chairs, the contributors and reviewers, and the Atlantis Press for publishing all these papers. Look forward to becoming colleagues with you again. The CAAI 2017 International Committees
