The 1st Asian Pacific Pacific Business and Economics Conference (APBEC 2018) was held in Jakarta, Indonesia on 17-19 of January 2018, organized by the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Indonesia. The theme of this conference is Value Creation for Development: Contemporary Issues and the Application of Innovative Research in Economics, Accounting, and Business for Emerging Countries. This theme is chosen as the environment has changed due to the influence of technological change: internet and e-commerce using internet platform. This disruption has changed how stakeholders of the economy and business has to adapt quickly to be able to survive.

This conference is conducted to learn, share knowledge and disseminate findings from various research in the economic, accountancy and business angle. Prof. Sung Joo Park form Kaist Business School, Seol South Korea was invited to give the keynote speech. The total number of paper presented in this conference were 139 papers, with several presenters from the Netherlands and Malaysia.

This conference was fully supported by the Faculty of Economics and Business and with the full support from KPPRI UI. Last but not least, this conference could not run well without the hard work of the organizing committee, scientific committee, reviewers, and also support by the Universitas Indonesia.
