Conference name: Proceedings of the Annual International Conference on Social Science and Humanities (AICOSH 2022)
Date: 15-17 September 2022
Location: Yogyakarta, Indonesia (Offline)
Website: http://aicosh.uin-suka.ac.id/ The annual International Conference on Social Sciences and Humanities has a historical story to us since our faculty has held it since 2019. This is the fourth year that we are holding our major annual event. With the topic of “Humanity in War and Conflict: Beyond Time and Space,” it has been our pleasure to host the event in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The world today is facing many challenges. International conditions are not doing well due to the recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, exacerbated by the human conflict that has occurred between Russia and Ukraine. Talking about humanity’s problems, the conflict between Russia and Ukraine is at the center of the world’s attention. Moreover, global conflicts led to human rights violations and the endless Israeli-Palestinian war. The US defeat to Taliban insurgents also cannot be told as a sign of the end of the conflict in Afghanistan. The Cold War happened for almost 44 years and led to the Gray War, which brought about the cyber warfare era, and the most recent conflict from the neighboring country, Myanmar, happened due to the coup from Myanmar Armored Forces. Talk about the Indonesian condition nowadays. There have been several domestic and foreign conflicts in our history. Call it the conflict that resulted in the release of East Timor from the sovereignty of the Republic of Indonesia. Several conflicts were with neighboring country Malaysia. Conflicts have occurred in West Kalimantan between the Dayak and Madura tribes. This conference was expected to strengthen discourse on issues and perspectives emerging from the three majors of social science, psychology, sociology, and communication science. In other words, the 4th AICOSH contributed to expanding our understanding of conflict social phenomena at all levels of analysis. This conference was attended by participants from various countries, including Germany, Ireland, Australia, Turkey, Malaysia, Philippines, and Indonesia. As the organizing committee, we hope this conference can produce valuable ideas for civilization nowadays. Last, our gratitude to our Rector of UIN Sunan Kalijaga and Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities. Thank you for the best support to the committees. Moreover, our great appreciation goes to the speakers and all participants who have to liven up the event. Lukman Nusa
