We are honored to welcome you to the 4th Annual International Conference on Language, Literature and Media (AICOLLIM 2022). It is a hybrid conference, conducted onsite at the Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Islam Negeri Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang, Malang, East Java, Indonesia, and online through Zoom meeting on September 21–22, 2022. This year’s theme for the conference is “Humanities inDiverse Contexts: Bridging Perspectives across Cultures”.

This conference can be held by the keynote speakers supports: 1) Prof. Dr. Helge Daniels fromKULeuven, Belgium; 2) Prof.Dr.WildanaWargadinata fromUIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang, Indonesia; 3) Prof. Dr. M. Al-Sayyid Sulaiman A. from Ain Shams University, Egypt; 4) Dag Yngvesson, Ph.D. from University of Nottingham, Malaysia; 5) Prof. I Nyoman Darma Putra from Udayana University, Indonesia; 6) Doaa Omran, Ph.D. from The University of New Mexico, USA; 7) Dr. J. Haryatmoko, S.J. from Sanata Dharma University, Indonesia; and 8) Assoc. Prof. Istiadah, MA. From UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang, Indonesia.

The papers in this proceeding are highly selected from the submitted articles for the 4th Annual International Conference on Language, Literature and Media (AICOLLIM). The subtheme, among others, includes the issues of Eco-linguistics, Eco-criticism, the interface among technology, Linguistics and Literature, creative industries generated from Linguistics and Literature, Digital Literature, Literature and Politics in the Arab worlds and so on. All the papers generated from these topics will certainly enrich how we redefine and construct new meaning of Linguistics, Literature and Media.

Since the 4th AICOLLIM is geographically and politically hosted in Malang, East Java, Indonesia, to some extent, this proceedings provides Global South’s sensitivities, cultures and perspectives which is often underrepresented in the Global North (North America and Europe) knowledge production. Being published internationally in the Atlantis Press, we hope that this proceedings can generate further academic discussions and explorations for academics both in the Global South and North.
