It is my pleasure to welcome you all to the 2nd Annual International Conference Guidance and Counseling (AICGC) 2023. The 2nd AICGC is an international conference hosted by the Guidance and Counseling Department, Faculty of Education and Teacher Trainings, Universitas Mercu Buana Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The chosen theme is “Reimagining Guidance and Counseling in the VUCA Era: Navigating Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, and Ambiguity in the Field of Education.” I hope this seminar will provide valuable insights into the evolving landscape of education and the vital role of guidance and counseling in supporting students’ well-being and success amidst the challenges posed by VUCA.

Related to these issues, the 2nd AICGC calls participants’ papers with subthemes: Sub-Tema: 1) Safe space for the student to ensure sustainable development, 2) Innovative learning models, 3) Technology and digital interventions in counseling, 4) Diversity and inclusion in counseling, 5) Career development and vocational guidance, 6) Mental health and well-being, 7) School counseling and student support, 8) Counseling ethics, and professional standards, 9) Counselor education and training, 10) Counseling research and evidence-based practices, 11) Collaboration and interdisciplinary approaches, 12) Policy and advocacy in guidance and counseling, 13) Assessment theories and methodology in education or guidance and counseling, 14) Character strengths in primary, secondary, and higher education, and 15) Design, implementation, and assessment of innovative technologies in education—guidance and counseling.

The number of participants is 150 people including keynote speakers, invitations, presenters, and non-presenter participants coming from various institutions and various countries consisting of researchers, lecturers, postgraduate, and undergraduate students. There are four keynote speakers and 23 paperswill be presented in parallel presentations.

Last but not least, I would like to express blessed gratitude to the committee and all who helped this event activities take place, especially to the Rector University of Mercu Buana Yogyakarta, Dean Faculty of Education and Teacher Training, and the Head of Guidance and Counseling Department.

Without you, the 2nd AICGC 2023would not be a reality.Representing the organizer, I proudly welcome all of you to the conference. Wishing all participants a fruitful and memorable experience for today. Thank you.
