Abstract

The era of the fourth industrial revolution marked by the increasing use of digital devices provides both advantages and challenges. The purpose of this paper is to see how social capital is practiced in the life of Islamic boarding schools as an effort to prevent the negative impacts of the industrial revolution 4.0 era. The writing of this article uses a library research approach, by seeking data from various sources such as journals, relevant research, and books. The result is that Islamic boarding schools become an alternative in dealing with and preventing the negative impacts of the current industrial revolution era, social capital is an important part of education in Islamic boarding schools in preparing students to face the negative impacts of the fourth industrial revolution. Social capital is very appropriate to be applied in learning and life in Islamic boarding schools because learning in Islamic boarding schools combines Islamic-based learning combined with the current national curriculum.
