Proceedings of the First ASEAN Business, Environment, and Technology Symposium (ABEATS 2019)
Dear participants,
It is a great honor and pleasure for us to welcome you to Bogor, Indonesia, at The 1st ASEAN Business, Engineering, and Technology Symposium (ABEATS) 2019. Attended by participants from Indonesia, Malaysia, and the UK, the conference was held on December 2-3, 2019 under the collaboration of IPB University, Indonesia, University Sains Malaysia, Universiti Teknologi Mara Malaysia, and University of Glasgow, UK. Our conference theme is "ASEAN business beyond industrial revolution: Opportunities and Challenges”. This conference is a general meeting to connect and update research projects among students, experts and scientist of business, management, engineering and technology, practitioners and governments in the South East Asia region. In the era of the industrial revolution 4.0 marked by the development of artificial intelligence (AI), robotic development, information technology & management systems, bio-technology, big data, and the Internet of Things (IoT), we need to strengthen the connectivity of ASEAN member countries to integrate the region in the global economy in order to create inclusive growth in the VUCA era. The 1st ASEAN Business Engineering and Technology Symposium (ABEATS) serves as a milestone for better collaboration in the future between universities of various ASEAN countries. We hope that the ABEATS symposium will be held every year by encouraging collaboration between universities, practitioners and governments around the world, especially ASEAN, so as to build a global network in disseminating and updating knowledge in facing future challenges and opportunities. We thank the organizing committee and the scientific committee for their invaluable assistance in designing the conference program. Words of thank also for Mr. Martin Hartono and Mr. On Lee from GDP Venture, Indonesia as well as Mr. Rajesh Purushothaman from Asia-Pacific National Instruments, Malaysia for their distinguished talks. Lastly, we thank all the reviewers, the distinguished session speakers, all participants, session chairs, and organizing partners for their invaluable contribution and support to ABEATS 2019 in Bogor, Indonesia. Finally, we wish you all fruitful discussions, enhanced networking, and an enjoyable stay in Bogor, Indonesia. On behalf of the Organizing Committee
