IJNDC Receives Its First Scopus CiteScore
May 30th, 2018
The International Journal of Networked and Distributed Computing (IJNDC) received its first Scopus CiteScore today. IJNDC achieved a modest 2017 CiteScore of 0.45 as the journal is still in the process of building up citations. Using the Scopus database, the 2017 CiteScore counts the number of citations received in 2017 to documents published in 2014, 2015 or 2016 (for IJNDC: 36) and divides this by the number of documents published in 2014, 2015 and 2016 (for IJNDC: 80). As opposed to the Impact Factor calculation which applies a 2-year time window, the 3-year CiteScore window was chosen as a best fit for all subject areas as research shows that a 3-year publication window is long enough to capture the citation peak of the majority of disciplines. IJNDC also received the following scores for other metrics in the Scopus "basket of metrics": a 2017 SNIP of 0.238 and a 2017 SJR of 0.200.
