- Abstract
Throughout Danto’s art philosophy, the thought of “indistinguishable things” is not only the center of his theory, but also his main philosophical interest. From the “Art World” to The Abuse of Beauty, Danto has been carrying out theoretical construction along a clear logical context, that is, all interpretations focus on the indistinguishable things in contemporary art. This paper attempts to take “indistinguishable things” as the starting point to investigate the occurrence and development of Danto’s whole artistic philosophy system, and contact Danto’s main aesthetic thoughts: the transfiguration of the commonplace, the art world and the theory of the end of art, explore the definition of contemporary art, and think about the possibility of symbiosis between Essentialism and diversified vision.
