- Abstract
The 21st century is already the era of artificial intelligence. In recent years, while the food delivery platform centered on AI algorithms has flourished, it has also exposed some chaos in the food delivery industry. Based on this, Marx’s theory of labor alienation expounded in “Manuscripts of Economics and Philosophy in 1844” has a good applicability for the analysis of China’s food delivery industry. Specifically, the alienation tendency of the takeaway rider is that the platform algorithm controls the labor process of the takeaway rider. At the same time, the gradual up-order game has caused riders to violate life, and the intermediary role positioning and customer-oriented absolute evaluation mechanism exacerbated the opposition between riders and merchants and consumer groups. In the future, the platform’s supplement to the labor education of riders, the clarification of the rights and responsibilities of all parties in the legal sense, and the involvement of administrative forces in supervision may be three feasible directions to alleviate the plight of takeaway riders.
