- Abstract
This research examines social & sexual impact of youth social media behavior using an ethno methodology approach. Several theories are employed in this research including the theory of sociology of media, social interaction and the concept of sexuality. Results indicate that despite the promise of enhanced socialization, communication, and education, however, many adolescents experience of social media use has been negative on balance, i.e. from lowering self esteem to creating new social norms that encourage increasingly risky behavior, SNS use, the sexual and social wellness of adolescents. This study showed a potential association between frequent social media use and increased likelihood of sexual activity among youth. The implications of this research are this study is expected to contribute information and enrich the repertoire of social science especially sociology also for the development of research on youth, media and sexuality.
