The subject of the present study is the financial soundness of metallurgical enterprises during the period of Russia’s industrial development. The aim of the present study is to compare the financial data of enterprises operating in the Russian Federation metallurgical industry, to identify existing problems, and to propose innovative solutions to improve performance. The study employs statistical, comparative and systemic analyses, as well as synthesis and forecasting. The outline of the study: 1. Applying financial ratios, the authors analysed financial stability of JSC Uralelektromed – one of the leading copper refineries and PJSC Nornickel Mining Company – Russia’s leading metals and mining company. 2.
