- Abstract
This study was initiated due to Sport learning at Padang 2 SLB has not been implemented optimally. Likewise, the teaching strategy such as the use of learning media has not met the need of physical education effectively and efficiently. so that it is seen that students are less creative and less motivated in doing physical activities, especially athletic material, namely the basic movements of running, throwing and jumping which are presented in the form of playing.This was developmental research that aims to produce athletic learning media products through playing with basic movements in running, jumping, and throwing for mentally retarded students at the State 2 Special School (SLB) Padang. The population in this study was retarded students in SLB Negeri 2 Padang. Data was collected through observation sheets. Data were analyzed using percentage formula and continued with analysis using statistical formulas that is “t-test”. The findings in this study show that, at significant level of 0.05, the tcount = 3.79> ttable = 2.15. Thus it can be concluded that there is a significant effect of the development of learning media on the athletic basal abilities of students at Padang State SLB 2 with an increase in the average value of 3.49, namely from the average score of the initial test of 50 and the final test to 53.49.
