- Abstract
The study of change and influencing factors in the Chengdu-Chongqing city cluster may contribute to science and technology innovation, as well as enrich existing population geography theories, expand the scope of application of multivariate statistical analysis by exploring factors that influence the agglomeration of science and technology talent. Statistical data from 2010 to 2019 was utilized in this study to apply location quotient theory, cluster analysis and fixed-effect regression model to research objectives. The results indicate that the Chengdu-Chongqing city cluster has a stable or increasing agglomeration of scientific and technological talent and is mainly divided into four categories; economic factors such as regional GDP, R&D expenditure investments in science, bed capacity per 10,000 people, teacher-student ratios in compulsory education, and road density have significant positive impacts on social factors.
