- Abstract
This study aims to reveal how emotional intelligence and persistence affect the income of entrepreneurs who own a small-scale industry of snack called peyek in city of Padang. This study is a descriptive and associative research. In this study, the research populations were 82 entrepreneurs of small-scale industries of peyek in Padang. The two stages cluster random sampling technique was used to determine the sample and the result obtained were a sample of 41. The research data were collected using a survey questionnaire which were tested for its validity and reliability before. The data analysis technique used in this study is path analysis. The results of this study indicate that emotional intelligence significantly affects entrepreneurs’ persistence, emotional intelligence significantly affects entrepreneurs’ income. Persistent is not only focusing on earning a high income, but also being equipped with emotional intelligence and other entrepreneurial abilities.
