- Abstract
Low cost commercially available Fresnel lens has been investigated as a potential candidate for portable concentrated solar cell application. A numerical model has been developed to simulate the selected Fresnel lens and its spot size, energy distribution, transmission spectrum and optical efficiency were studied systematically. The simulation results indicate that the low cost commercially available lens is suitable for use as a portable solar concentrator if the requirement of optical efficiency is reasonable. Introduction
