- Abstract
The article describes the institutional possibilities and limitations of the digital economy regulation of foreign trade activities in the context of international economic integration. A comparative analysis of conceptual approaches to the definition of the nature and forms, functions and structure of the digital economy in foreign and national scientific literature has been carried out. The problem of institutional changes caused by digitalization in the Russian economy has been highlighted. The strengths and weaknesses of the economic components of the economy digitalization process, as well as new opportunities and threats to society when changing to a digital scenario of economic development are identified. The trends of institutional environment changes in the financial sector are described and a paradigm for regulating the digital economy during the period of institutional transformations is proposed.
