- Abstract
This paper mainly discusses the effective application of genre-based approach in teaching Business English based on the analysis of the students' needs in the Foreign Language School of Xi'an Shiyou University. A genre-based instruction is designed after the analyses of the learners, course material, contents and approaches. 17 years of teaching shows that it is practical and effective in teaching Business English to English majors.
