Separated by understanding? A Study on the Factors Affecting Students' Career Choice-A Case Study of Hotel Interns in Tourism College

- Abstract
After internship in hotels, most graduates of tourism and hotel specialty do not choose to work and develop in hotel-related industries. Why? Internship is to let college students understand the workplace before entering the workplace, and then become the company's immediate combat force. However, after the internship, they have changed careers, and why? Based on qualitative research and in-depth interviews, this study interviewed 8 senior students who had completed their internship in tourism and hotel from December 2018 to May 2019. The results show that the key factor is the internship environment, the decisive factor is the internship satisfaction, and the final factor is the internship effectiveness. Besides the above three factors, psychological pressure and internship workload also be important factors. The results can give students, schools and practice units improvement and construction.
